I'm Alana, I'm 37, from London, UK. Being on the road in the Milly Van, here's my background & what I bring to Mission Milly to achieve Pocket Protection, Eco Intent & Wild Anchor...
I worked in TV (Drama, Documentaries & Reality) for almost 7 years then left to found the Non Profit, My Million To One Swapsies. (Richard Curtis & Emma Freud have been wonderful supporters of the MMTO Swapsies Campaign.)
I have independently filmed 2 fundraising documentaries in Swaziland whilst conducting research within the Mbabane area on rehabiltation for the disabled people that MMTO Swapsies is destined to help. One of these trips was self funded and the second was funded by a Sponsor.
My roles in TV necessitated coming up with programme ideas, pitching, logistical planning, scheduling and organisation.
Since 2006 I’ve been simultaneously developing a network in the 100s from multiple industries to source advice, skills, information, help and funding.
As part of MMTO Swapsies’ fundraising Mission, I have organised, hosted, edited and published live and online Q&As with actors like Richard E Grant & Jason Flemyng as well as incredible inspirations like Leon Taylor, Sir Rannulph Fiennes, Jools Holland, Richard Pierson (founder of Headspace) Mark Beaumont & Sean Conway. These Q&As were also published via Kindle, in 'It Ain't Gospel.'
Via Mission Milly, I'm working with an increasing number of ethical Partners/Sponsors (also founding a community of like-minded UK companies) all of whom I reached out to personally, to collaborate with me and fund Milly.
